Lydeard St Lawrence Community Primary School

Lydeard St Lawrence Ambassadors

Lydeard St Lawrence School, each year elects school ambassadors in year six to represent the pupil school community across the school.

Each ambassador elected will represent a key area of school life. Usually linked to a particular project or focus area for growth in line with the school development plan.

Ambassadors are responsible for the school council. They chair the meetings to ensure that the important project work they are delivering, meets the needs of all children and is responsive to the wider pupil voice across all year groups.

Children who are elected to be ambassadors are key to promoting the school values and the Fundamental British Values. They role model every day the key characteristics of excellence. Supporting others to be ambitious, courageous and creative learners. Supporting the school culture to be a place that everyone feels safe, respected and come to a school that makes them feel like they belong to a community that deeply values and cares for them.

In year 2023-2024 pupils worked on three strands:

1. Wellbeing

2. Education

3. Sports and reading

Children created projects across the year to strengthen the three areas. This included a wellbeing club where students made loombands to support regulation. These bands were then sold to raise money for charities such as children in need.

This year in 2024-2025 children will apply to become ambassadors and deliver a presentation in front of a panel of students, parents and teachers. From this, they will be selected to represent one of the following areas.

1. Reading & Oracy
2. Eco
3. Education
4. Inclusion, wellbeing and safeguarding
5. Bath Multi Academy Trust
