About Us
Welcome to Lydeard St Lawrence School.
Our school is a cornerstone of the community, deeply rooted in collaboration and mutual support. We believe in the power of community to enrich the life chances of all children. We are committed to drawing on local resources, culture, and expertise to enhance our curriculum. Children are encouraged to engage with the community through service projects, partnerships, and real-world learning opportunities, fostering a sense of belonging and civic responsibility.
Our fantastic children, families and staff create a wonderful ethos which provides the foundation for every child to fulfil their potential. At Lydeard St Lawrence we want all children to leave with the skills that equip them for their future: to be kind, confident and resilient life long learners.

It is a short drive from the town Taunton. The school is set in a beautiful location, with a large playing field, field, forest school and modern classrooms. It has a vibrant parent and carer community with many opportunities to get involved and join the great fun.
The parish covers a large rural area and encompasses several small hamlets including Westowe, Pyleigh, Chapel Leigh and Westleigh. The village has a large church, a busy primary school, a cricket club, a WI Group, Table Tennis and Bell Ringing.
